Chef Saransh Goila, famously known as the man behind the smoky, flavorful Goila Butter Chicken, opened up about his journey from a hesitant beginner to a global culinary name. Although his signature butter chicken earned him fame, Goila admits it wasn’t always his favorite—he created it based on popular demand rather than personal liking.
In a candid interview, Goila spoke about his recent achievement: becoming the first Indian food brand to be launched at an English Premier League club. He also shared the surreal moment of serving his butter chicken to football legend David Beckham, and his ongoing dream of someday cooking for Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
Goila’s culinary passion started at the age of 12, inspired by his grandfather. Watching cooking shows with his grandparents and noting down recipes as a child helped fuel his love for the kitchen. However, his path wasn’t easy. His mother was unsure how a vegetarian household boy would adapt to the demanding hospitality industry, though his father was supportive of his decision to pursue hotel management. From early kitchen mishaps, like accidentally adding salt to phirni instead of sugar, to international recognition, Goila’s story is one of perseverance and passion.
